HIGH SCHOOL (9TH-12TH GRADE) Once your child reaches high school, they will be ready to look for colleges, date, get a car, and figure out who they are. This can be a time of conflict for your child and it can also be a time to learn more about who they are becoming. You will have to listen to your child and try to understand where they are coming from. These years are not easy, but if you try to keep the lines of communication open, you will have a better understanding of who they are and what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Educational Learning In high school, more emphasis will be placed on your child’s grades than ever before. This is because if your child is planning on going to college after they graduate, having good grades will make it easier to get into certain colleges. Your child will be expected to write essays, term papers, and complete more tests than before. You may have to find tutors for your child if they fall behind.
