WHERE TO SIGN UP FOR CLASSES Now that you know about adult education classes, you may be wondering where to find out more information and sign up for a class. Your local college should have a continuing education department that will be able to help. The college will usually send out an adult education catalogue each semester with a list of courses and times. You can sign up by calling the continuing education department. You should register for classes early as they tend to fill up quickly. Most classes usually have ten to fifteen students. Sometimes you can get on a waiting list, but many times you will just have to wait until the next semester. Other places to find adult education programs are technical and vocational schools, aerobic studios, dance studios, museums, libraries, newspapers, and on the Internet. Many communities have a newsletter that is delivered in the mail or is available online. Any class that can be taken by an adult is considered and adult education class. This means that there are many classes out there that you can try. People who take adult education classes want to learn a new skill, discover a new hobby, and want to make new friends. This is a good opportunity for those who have just moved to a new area to meet people who share their interests.
